Coming Soon!

The people have spoken, and they have demanded more Damian & Jamie-boy.  Well, ask and you shall receive.  The sequel to "Drain Me Dry" will be out sometime in the next few weeks.  It is currently in the editing process.  It is a 12,000ish word crime and sex drama called "Addicted to the Bite."  As you can see to the left, "Drain Me Dry" has gotten a cover update to reflect the series, yes SERIES, Deadly Liaisons.  Book 3, tentatively titled "Daybreak" will be out sometime in the spring, or as soon as I figure out what it is about and write it.

In "Addicted to the Bite" Jamie-boy decides he needs more sex and violence, and goes looking for it at the popular vampire night club, Sanguine Moon. He finds Damian there, but the vampire is a little too preoccupied with a series of dead bodies and a persistent cop to find the time to give to the needy teenager.  If Damian can't give him what he wants, Jamie-boy is going to get it somewhere else.

Contains: m/m, masturbation, blood play, oral sex, anal sex.

New Story: The Beauty and the Beast

This story is a little hard to label. Technically it is not BDSM--but it is.  Yeah.  Sort of. It's sex, just read it!

HERE for US
HERE for UK
(also available everywhere else on amazon, just do a search for me)

Description:
The Beauty is a dominant...but so is the Beast. Nathan invites Kate to dinner with one thought in mind--to ask her to marry him.  Their like personalities struggle for control.  Will the beast be tamed, or will the beauty be devoured?

Short story. 4300 words.  M/F, explicit sex, power exchange, very light bondage.

A funny note about this story--I named the characters Kate and Richard, not even thinking that those were the names of the main characters of Castle.  Clearly my inner fanfic writer is trying to tell me something.  (Castle and Beckett are begging for a kinky fanfic treatment.)  So of course I changed the name to Nathan.  :)

New Story & Nanowrimo

I'll be releasing a new story in the next few days.  It's a m/m story called "Saturday Night" which is not a particularly fascinating title, but there are handcuffs.  :)  Its about a cop who pulls a guy over and gets a little more than he bargained for. I wrote if for an anthology last month but missed the deadline.  It's been languishing on my computer with hopes that another call would crop up, but I don't see that happening any time soon.  So, "Saturday Night", coming out as soon as my copy editor gets off his butt and double-checks my grammar.

I'm thinking about bundling it with "Brian is Gay (and so am I)" for a limited time as an incentive to buy.

And Nanowrimo starts in a few hours! I'm doing a paranormal romance between a werewolf and a witch set in the Dead End Streets universe--the same world as "Drain Me Dry."  I'm excited to write about the werewolves because they are pretty different from most weres.  The characters are Stella Child--a witch who is trying to find companionship in a world where she keeps her powers a secret even as vampires and werewolves wander out in the open--and Max is a wolf rebelling against the constraints society has put on him and his kind. They meet on accident, or fate, and Stella is pulled into the were subculture...and a murder investigation.

So, busy month!  I'm also working on a novella and a full collection of erotic fairy tales.

A Post on Cover Design

I don't buy my covers.  Sure it would be great to be able to pay a professional designer for a cover, but these are all one dollar short stories, that frankly I don't sell many copies of.  I can't afford to buy a cover for every single one of them.  So all of the covers are my own work.  To tell the truth I think some of them look better than the 'professional' covers on some of the anthologies I've contributed to.  The art on Fraternal Devotion for example is...iffy.  The cover of Riding the Rocket is downright scary.

Not that I'm some brilliant graphic designer.  I think the covers for 'Boy' and 'Shoes' are lacking immensely.  'Cherry Bomb' is my favorite which is amusing because its my least favorite of my works that I have up here.  I really like 'Drain Me Dry' but there are a few problems with it.  The first is that I wanted a completely different cover image.  A bare back is so easy and cheap.  The problem is, there really is no such thing as a free stock image that features kinky gay vampires.  The second is that it shrank very badly on most sites for some reason.  Here the image is clear and easy to read, but its kinda blurry everywhere else unless you blow it up.  Ugh.

I know I should be trying to design my covers so that they are fairly uniform, branded, as it were.  But I'm still learning what works and what doesn't, and I'm limited by the art that is available for free.  For example, I wanted a gender-neutral bare back and full cover image for 'Boy'.  I couldn't find any--the one I ended up with was a woman in a dress and I had to crop around all of the clothing, leaving me with a tiny image that couldn't be blown up.  So I had to improvise.  It's not perfect, but it's not bad.  The font isn't over-used and it is fancy while still being readable.  The sub-heading font is what I use on most of my covers for my name.  I know simple is better when it comes to this kind of thing.

I have another story coming out soon.  It is one of those very little plot mostly porn stories, but the cover I've designed doesn't look like porn at all.  So I think I will have to dump it and try again, even though it is a very nice cover:

Free Always: Boy

I want to offer more permanent free stories on here, so here's one from the vaults--"Boy."

This is pure erotica with not much in the way of plot.  A woman picks up a young inexperienced butch girl at a bar and takes her home to "be her boy."  It's pretty gender-queer as it is two lesbians role playing as two men.  If you would like to read it as a trans story you certainly can.

Free to download always on Smashwords.  Click Here

Coming October 2nd: Drain Me Dry

This is an exciting story, and I'll tell you why.  Back in 2005 I began writing a YA serial novel online, Dead End Streets.   It was a long, rambling piece about 6 teenagers--two humans, two werewolves, a vampire and a succubus.  It ran for over a year and I got to tell a great story.  Since then I've made several attempts to turn it into a proper novel, but it was written in more of a TV show format and it's been a difficult project.  I have a 4th draft 1/2 edited that's been sitting untouched for the last year.

The thing about this story that is so great is the universe.  In 1960, at the beginning of the civil rights movement, one werewolf began picketing the whitehouse for werewolf rights, looking for a cure.  A succubus read about him and decided she was tired of being labeled a slut.  The werewolves and the demons and the vampires all come out of the closet and chaos ensues.  History is dramatically altered.  The demons are rounded up and put in internment camps for much of the 60's.  Dark Shadows never goes off the air.  Grocery stores begin selling animal blood in the cooler cases.  Joss Whedon never writes Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  (He pens an equally successful show called I Was a Teenage Vampire.)  I had not read the Sookie Stackhouse books, but I have since.  It's a pretty different universe even tho the concept is the same.

"Drain Me Dry" is the first story I've written in that universe since I stopped updating Dead End Streets.  It is about how two of the minor characters in the story, a respected vampire businessman and his obsessed barely-legal gay lover, meet.  Jamie-boy is a depressed 19 year old with thoughts of suicide.  Because he is not brave enough to slit his own wrists he decides to find a vampire to finish him off instead.  Damian sees Jamie-boy and falls into instant lust.  He's not going to kill the teen, and he'll try really hard not to fall in love with him.

"Drain Me Dry" is a m/m BDSM short story.  It does have some elements of abuse, but not too heavy.  It will be released either the 2nd or the 3rd.  It will be free for 24 hours on smashwords and then will sell for the usual $0.99.  It's a longer piece than others I've posted.  Around 7,500 words.

Erotica, Romance, and Fantasy (ramblings)

Sometimes I wonder about the genre I write in.  I love writing about sex, but oftentimes it is just a small part of a bigger story, not the focus of it.  My favorite part of writing is creating characters and watching them react to the situation I put them in.  "Brian is Gay (and so am I)" is not really erotica.  Yes, there is a sex scene in it, but the story is simply about a man fighting with accepting his own sexuality.  I feel like I'm lying a little bit to even label it as erotica, but it does feature graphic sex, and it is kinda hot.  "Cherry Bomb" is clearly romance with graphic sex.  Over all it is very basic, Harlequin-esque.  "Shoes" is straight up erotica, and so is "In the Dark" and "When Life is Interesting." They are very short stories.  The main focus is on the sex and they are framed by enough plot to make you interested in the characters, but it doesn't tell a full story and the entire point is for the characters to have sex.

I don't actually write a lot of stories that are just about the sex.  I always want more.  Yet I hate to label myself as a romance writer.  I understand that it is an unfair stigma, but the truth of the matter is that there are very few authors who write romance that I actually like.  I find romances formulaic, dorky, and many are badly written (to be fair, I have a very low tolerance for bad writing).  At the same time when reading other genres I crave romance.  (In real-life I am very practical and not at all romantic.)  I also crave sex, and if I'm lucky enough to get one, I rarely get both.  I probably read more fanfic than anything else because it gives me the romance and sex within the excellent stories that I love.  Also everything is at least 20% gayer, which is also fun.

I love fantasy and science fiction and mysteries, but they all need more sex and more romance.  So I write fairy tales with sex in them (you can expect some of those in November) and lots of paranormal romance.  I don't write a lot of high fantasy, but I am working on a few steam-punk projects with sex and romance and gay characters.  Mysteries are a big challenge for me.  I'm not very good at them.  But maybe one day.

What's your favorite genre?

Upcoming Stories

Next month will be an exciting time.

I plan to release a BDSM novella, Freedom in Chains, sometime mid-month.  It will be around 30,000 words and feature sex in almost every chapter.  The story revolves around a television actress, Miranda Noble, whose career is on the line after some nude (and kinky) pictures are leaked onto the internet.  Her body guard and friend Connor sees the pictures and discovers that she's just like him.  He stages a fake kidnapping to pull her out of her unhappy situation to offer her a life of pleasure and pain.  Miranda is a safe-word away from going back to Hollywood and her career, but does she want to?

Also, just in time for Halloween, I'm planning on a short story called Drain Me Dry, about a young gay man's attempt at suicide by vampire, which fails horribly when he falls for his would-be murderer instead.

So...

I think there is a chance that someone might actually read a post on here for once, which is awesome.  The sales have been trickling in, not as fast as I'd like, but they are happening.  Lots of lurv to the people who have reviewed In the Dark on Smashwords.  Biggest complaint--not long enough.  Hell, I'll take it.

I am working on a longer piece.  It's going to be in the 35,000 word range and it is pure erotic BDSM content through and through.  It has so many sex scenes I've not only lost count, but I'm getting exhausted with writing them.  Like my other stories, there is a plot, and there are interesting, likable characters and plenty of romance.  It is definitely not vanilla, and can't be mistaken for any genre other than what it is--porn.

I think you'll like it.  I'm hoping for a beginning of October release date.  It's actually only about 2 chapters away from being done, but then my copy editor needs to be coaxed into editing with blow jobs.

Anyway, those who are reading this, feel free to drop me a line, leave a message, re-post and re-tweet and all that jazz.  Hearing from the readers is what makes this job awesome.

New: Brian is Gay (and so am I)

Part of the Great Hard-drive Dump of 2012. (All of the stories released independently in the last few weeks are things that having been sitting on my hard-drive, probably because I missed the submission deadline for whatever anthology I was trying for.)

I really like this story. It's not so much porn, though there is sex in it, as it is a story about a middle-aged man finally coming to terms with his sexuality when his son brings his very gay college roommate home for Thanksgiving. His proclivity for young hot men kicks in, and while Brian is up for it, he has a few choice words to say to him afterwards.

I'm offering this story for free for one week on Smashwords. Unfortunately Amazon won't let me offer it free without committing to a 90-days-only contract with them, so if you go there you will have to pay a buck.

Once I have a decent collection of stories I'm going to bundle them up into one work and sell it for 3 bucks, which will be massively cheaper for the reader, but the problem is I write all over the board. One minute its gay, the next straight. From fetish to vanilla and back again.

New Story: Shoes

Shoes is a short story I wrote some time ago. It's a fun foot fetish piece, for those who are into foot fetishes. I'm trying my hand at self-publishing, so you can get it here for the low low price of a dollar.

Also up, and for free, is In the Dark, another older story. You can find it under the "Free Fiction" page.

Depression, Love, and Swimming Pools--Released

"Depression, Love, and Swimming Pools" is now out in the anthology Fraternal Devotion by Storm Moon Press. You can buy it here.

I really love this story. It's depressing and funny, which I think is important. One hardly wants their readers wanting to commit suicide as well as their characters.

Cale spent most of his adult life running away from his older brother Derrick, but during a trip home truths are finally revealed, and Cale learns some surprising things about himself--and Derrick--as they deal with the suicide of their father and the secret passion for each other that has made them miserable for most of their lives. This story is m/m and features incest.

Here is the except that they put on the site:

He watched his brother float and battled visions of his father's corpse. "Mother says you've been in there for two days," he called out.

"I got out to sleep," Derrick protested.

"What are you doing?"

"What does it look like? Nothing."

"Have you been eating?" Cale asked.

"Haven't felt like it."

"Would you like to come in now?"

"Not really," Derrick answered.

Cale held back a groan. Why was it always like this? He thought, as he looked around and found the shepherd's crook. They had used it to tow their father out of the water, but Cale was more accustomed to using it to collect Derrick. He stood at the edge of the pool and hooked Derrick around the middle on the first try. His brother didn't fight it as Cale pulled him over to the side of the pool. "Don't make me get all wet pulling you out of there," he said.

Derrick righted himself and folded his wet arms on the cement at Cale's feet. "Hello, Cale."

"Hi."

Derrick didn't say anything else. He simply hefted himself out of the water. Cale had to back away to avoid his shoes getting wet. Derrick was only wearing a pair of white boxer shorts, rendered pointless by the water. Cale could see his long, thin cock and tangle of dark pubic hair. He knew his eyes lingered too long; when he looked up, his eyes met Derrick's and he knew he'd been caught. Derrick walked over to a lounge chair and picked up his blue terrycloth robe and wrapped himself up. "Did Mother call you home to deal with me?"

"Do I look like someone who would drive four hundred miles just to save you from drowning yourself? It's spring break".

"Ah," Derrick said, as he walked past Cale into the house. Cale let the shepherd's crook fall to the ground and followed his older brother.

Project: The King Under the Hill

So clearly one should give the public what it wants, and as sad as it is, what the public wants is shiny, sparkly men. I can see the appeal--I also like things that sparkle. I buy glitter to play with it. But I also believe in calling things what they are. So if you're going to have a man who sparkles like diamonds, don't try to say he's a vampire 'cause we all know that's not true. Be honest.

Call him a fairy. Really. Do it.

Now, don't you feel better?

Don't think that fairies can't be masculine. It's been done. Just ask the girls who read Gargoyles fanfic and have memorized Labyrinth. (Oh yes, I am a fangirl of many things.) And what does every fangirl complain about when it comes to Labyrinth? Sarah never hooks up with Jareth. Oh, she comes close, but the character is 15 and it's a Jim Henson flick, so its not gonna happen.

Aside from being a fangirl I'm also an amateur scholar in European fairy and folk tales. There are lots of wonderful stories about fairies and changlings and people who are kidnapped by the fairies, I figure why not take advantage of those stories and add a little debauchery. I'm working on a novella involving a young woman in WWII England who finds herself in fairyland at the mercy of the King Under the Hill. It has glitter. The hero looks like an over-the-top prince character from a manga (less of a fangirl of those, but they are pretty), and there is a magic journey that ends in hot fairy sex. We got unicorns, we got mermaids. There's enough pretty shiny things to make you puke rainbows.

It's completely indulgent and no holds barred. It's been a blast to write. I hope to finish the first draft by the end of the month. I've been writing this freehand, so then I'll spend another month typing it, but that will get the first edit out of the way, so all will be good. I have no clue what to do with it when it's done. It'll be about 30k words long, I think, so not enough for a full-length novel. I'll shop it around to the e-book companies and see if someone will pick it up. Could be cool.

About Me.

The first post for things like this are so difficult. Hi. I write under Leigh Wilder for all things pornographic. I write under my real name too, and while I've come to the conclusion that I will probably always write more porn than mainstream fiction, I feel I owe it to my grandmothers to at least pretend I'm not a smut peddler, at least while they're still around.

It's all well and good when people who write erotica want to differentiate it from 'porn' but lets face it. It might be well written, it might be pretty or have a good plot, but if the point of a story is to titillate using sexually graphic language, it's porn. I will not apologize for it, or call it something its not. I write porn and I'm a pornographer. Get over it. (Anyway, telling people I write porn makes me feel dirty.)

So...a little bit about my writing. I write all pairings--m/f, m/m, f/f and any combination you can think of. I'm not against writing a trans character and very likely will one day, but I want to do it right. I like to have a fantasy element in my writing. Above all I like to be original and interesting in my writing, and not be obvious. Which is why there is not a lot of it. It's hard to make sex interesting over and over again, but I do my best.

Other non-writing info: I'm 29. I have a degree in English Lit. I own 3 cats, live in Columbus, Ohio, and am engaged to a really great guy. I prefer motorcycles to cars. And that's about it.

You can leave any questions/comments here and I'll get back to you.

Ciao.
